#288 - How to create an event and launch an email invitation

Below are the main steps for creating an event on the IMechE website and advertising it. This process uses two different web platforms.

The first part is in the event creation from SitefinityCMS:

Notes:

- Section: Sitefinity/Content/NearYouEvents.

- Event summary: max. 500 char.

- Speaker bio: max. 300 char.

- Attention to the character limits and to the width of the images (e.g., less than 500px). Resize the image before uploading it to the library in order to use it in the event flyer.

- Changing the status from Draft to Active will generate the event's URL.

The second part is the advertisement creation from dotdigital:

login: name.surname@member.imeche.org

Choose account: Scotland region (mmscotland.region@member.imeche.org)

Select a template from the Custom templates, such as Single Event Template (content/templates/email/custom).

Take some information from the event, such as the URL, text and details to build the advertisement. Click on template preview and then "Create new campaign".
