#181 - Schneider How to set-up the CIP Safety in the Altivar 900 VSDs

 - Add a dedicated safety module to the drive (VW3A3809), that is located behind the HMI and the green cover for the ATV900 (and on the top right for the ATV340 in the slot GP-SF)

- From the drive’s HMI, navigate the menu to “6. Communication”

- Set up the “6.1 Comm parameters” to “Embd Eth Config”

- Disable DHCP (set fixed) and set up the IP address and mask

- In the menu “5 Complete settings”, go to the “5.20 Safety Module” and check the “Safety Module Status” is “Switch On Disabled”

- Follow these steps: 1. M580 Safety PLC: Configure IP Address from the IP Config tab (double-click on the ETH card) 2. M580 Safety PLC: Generate Safety Network Number from the Safety tab, then Click on “Advanced configuration” and on “Generate” 3. Add ATV DTM under EtherNet/IP Field bus: Configure ATV Parameters. The drive can be uploaded by doing a “Field bus discovery” and selecting channel EIP and protocol CIP. Once the drive is in the Distributed bus network, load data from the device. 4. Add ATV Safety EDS under Safety Field bus: In the DTM Browser, add the Safety Distributed Bus, by redoing a “Field bus discovery” but by adding the exact match device that has the safety on its EDS. This will add the same drive to the DTM Browser tree, but this time under the Safety Distributed Bus. Open the device by double-clicking on it in the DTM Browser. Configure CIP Safety Communication Parameters, IP address, RPI 5. ATV CIP Safety Device: Generate Safety Network Number from the General tab. 6. ATV CIP Safety Device: Configure Safety Configuration Signature from the General tab (optional). 7. ATV CIP Safety Device: Set TUNID in Diagnosis in the “Sate Info” tab, by connecting to it from the DTM Browser and clicking on “Device Menu”. The “CIP Safety State” is going to be “Waiting for TUNID”. Click on the “Safety” tab, then the “…” button and finally the “Set” button. The status on the drive HMI in the “5.20 Safety Module” menu, should be “STO Active”. 8. In Control Expert, create an animation table with the drive safety variables (Safe Device DDT table then ATV9xx…Output.Safe_Torque_Off). The STO HMI status will be displayed in the top left of the HMI.

Notes: - Check that the firmware version of the Altivar is compatible with the CIP Safety module, i.e. from V2.1IE82
