- The easiest way to connect to a RX3i PAC is via ethernet. Just connect to the CPU, ping it, and setup the CPU physical port to Ethernet and enter the CPU's IP address.
- Other options, like serial connection also work, but they will be slower and require special cables and connectors (e.g., USB to serial and serial to RJ11). If so, select the correct physical port (COM) and change the settings in the Device Manager if required.
- Once the comms work, click on the Connect button from the PAC Machine Edition IDE to go online.
- To download the CPU must be set in stop mode. A few windows will appear during the download process, ensure the setting "Write ALL items to flash memory" is ticked, in order to save the program to the memory.
