- Open BootP DHCP and select the NIC that will be the DHCP Server.
- Check the MAC on the device and enter both the MAC and the desired IP address.
- Ping the new IP to validate.
- On the bottom screen, click on Disable BOOTP/DHCP so that the PLC will retain the configured IP address after power cycle and test the ping again.
- Note that some CompactLogix CPU have 2 RJ-45 ports and each one of them has its own MAC address. In Studio5000 it is possible to select the desired configuration for these ports, i.e., Dual-IP or DLR. However if an error occurs when changing this configuration and downloading to the CPU via ethernet cable, use the USB connection to download it.
