#278 - Rockwell How to create a PlantPAx project from Application Code Manager (ACM)

- Download the latest version compatible version of the Process Library.

- Launch the ACM setup installer in order to install the process library project template in the ACM. Note: Get ACM v5.00.00 or above for controller v37.

Note: When upgrading the ACM version a pop-up will appear asking to update the database manager. I this case, first click on "Connect" to connect to the database and then click on "Execute Task" to upgrade the database.

- In ACM, create a new project from the Process Library template.

- In Historian, add a ScanClass.

- In HMI, add a FTAlarm and Event (Logical definition type) and a Display. It is recommended to add the displays before the PLC logic, in order to minimize future manual tag associations.

- Create a new Display, e.g., BL1 - Blending Vat 1. Choose the Process Display Template.

- Drag-and-Drop a Process Controller and configure some of the information.

- Drag-and-Drop the Plant organization folders and create the plant hierarchy, e.g., Plant > Tank Farm > Blending Vats > BL1. First create all the Organization_Folders and then add a new child folder to each one by linking the ChildFolderName to the folder.

- Drag-and-Drop the Device Control strategies, e.g., PVLV, PMTR, etc. Configure the Valve name, description and select the task.

- Associate the Valve to the display.

- Generate the .ACD project file based on the configuration (from Plant_Controller).

- Generate the Display (from HMI > Displays > FTViewSE_Server). Open in FactoryTalk View Studio and import the xml display that was created, from HMI Area > Graphics > Displays.

Notes:

- To download and install Windows in the VM.

- Use the PlantPAx Migration Tool to migrate a project PLC/HMI that was done in a previous Process Library to the latest version. In the Program Files (x86) > Rockwell Automation > PlantPAx Migrate Tools folder, enable full control for the users.
