#211 - Schneider Configuration of the managed switches

- Connect to the switch via Ethernet cable or USB-C

- From "Ethernet Switch Configurator" scan the network and identify the MAC address of the switch. Set the desired IP address and click on WWW to open the web interface.

- Using the USB-C cable, try the default web page: 91.0.0.100

- A ring topology, redundancy, needs a managed switch

- Nomenclature:

Example: MCSESM103F2CS1: Extended Managed Switch 8TX/2FX Single Mode. RSTP enabled by default on all ports. Dual RSTP capability (dual rings after profiles configuration).

- Redundancy protocols: MRP (Media Redundancy Protocol), RSTP (Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol), Hiper-Ring.

- Configuration: RM (Ring Manager), SRM (Sub Ring Manager), Ring Coupling.

Example: Login the Switch, Click on Switching menu, Click on L2-Redundancy, Configure Ports of Ring, Configure role of Ring Manager, Save changes.

Note: To configure an MRP ring, STP feature must be disabled on ports. MRP can be combined with RSTP for architectures with primary and secondary rings.

Note that there are configuration files for the two types of Switch, the Connexium (.CFG) and the Modicon (.CLI).
